you wondering why at the age of forty-something I decided to publish my first book?<\/p>\n<p>Well, let me explain. \u00a0I was bullied since as far back as I can remember.<\/p>\n<p>Dealing with these toxic people and their venomous comments on a daily basis bred my propensity for low self-esteem and bad body image.\u00a0 And, it cost me years \u2013 decades \u2013 of unhappiness.\u00a0 Life was difficult enough without their taunts. \u00a0It was a struggle just to get through the day.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With this battle raging, my perspective was warped.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t see that the unhealthy habits I developed, such as dating the wrong people and binge eating until I got sick, were only facilitating my melancholy.\u00a0 And for years I thought I was alone.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t until I gained the strength to be my own person and take back control of my life that I realized I had never been alone.\u00a0 There were and are people currently dealing with the same self-loathing that I was living with for years, but I couldn\u2019t see because I had tunnel vision.\u00a0 If I had only been able to open my eyes, I may have found others empathetic to my situation and may have begun the healing process years earlier.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, here are three reasons I wrote my first book:<\/p>\n<p><strong>#1 \u2013 Life is Difficult<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even when you\u2019re feeling good, family, friends, work, and other stuff that happens in life is challenging.\u00a0 If you\u2019re not in the right mindset, those normally demanding things turn into insurmountable mountains.\u00a0 You need to have at least an adequate supply of confidence and self-esteem in order to be happy and make the most of your life.<\/p>\n<p>My hope is that <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.BooksByGayle.com\" target=\"_blank\">my books and books to come<\/a> will help people live better lives by giving them practical ways of reclaiming that confidence and self-esteem that may have gotten lost or, worse yet, taken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2 \u2013 Toxic People are Everywhere<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, there are a lot of good people out there, probably many more than toxic.\u00a0 The question is about perspective.\u00a0 If all you have is a toxic person clouding your vision or blocking your path, it may be difficult to see those good people.\u00a0 If you\u2019re not feeling your best and you don\u2019t even appreciate yourself, how can you possibly appreciate someone else?<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Grounded-Dealing-Difficult-People-Saving-ebook\/dp\/B01H5W5A1O\" target=\"_blank\">My book<\/a> details strategies that have helped me push the toxic people in my life aside so I could start to see the good in myself, and in other people.\u00a0 If you can get rid of the negativity, the toxic people in your life won\u2019t have as much power over you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#3 \u2013 You\u2019re Not Alone<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re down in the dumps, you think you\u2019re the only one.\u00a0 No one could possibly understand what I was dealing with or how I felt.\u00a0\u00a0 You might feel that way too.\u00a0 And yes, while my situation may not be identical to yours, there\u2019s probably a common thread.\u00a0 Embrace it and know that you\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n<p>If you have low self-esteem or lack confidence, there\u2019s a reason for it.\u00a0 Everyone has imperfections and it\u2019s those same imperfections that make us unique, amazing people.<\/p>\n<p>So there\u2019s a little insight into the reasons why I wrote <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Grounded-Dealing-Difficult-People-Saving-ebook\/dp\/B01H5W5A1O\" target=\"_blank\">my first book<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0Over the years, I\u2019ve built up my confidence and self-esteem despite all the unexpected hiccups of life so that I could find happiness.\u00a0 It\u2019ll always be a work in progress, but I\u2019m in a much better place now.\u00a0 With the help of the tools and tactics in <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Grounded-Dealing-Difficult-People-Saving-ebook\/dp\/B01H5W5A1O\" target=\"_blank\">my book<\/a>, I hope you\u2019ll get there
