What’s this privacy stuff all about?
This page is intended to let you know what personal information I collect about you, why I collect it, what I will do with it, and how you can choose how I use it.
Privacy is very important to me, and so I take your privacy seriously too. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have any of your information at all. But sometimes I need to use your information, and this sets out exactly what information I’ll ask you for and how I’ll use it.
If you ever feel uncomfortable with the way I’m using your information, please tell me. I never want you to feel uncomfortable.
Cookies
Emails sent to members of my mailing list contain cookies. These cookies identify whether you have opened an email and/or clicked a link within the email. These cookies record your email address, IP address, date and time you opened an email and/or clicked a link. They help me see whether an email has performed well or if I need to make some changes in the emails I send you. If you object to the use of these cookies, you must unsubscribe from my newsletter; the link is at the bottom of every email I have sent you.
Like most websites, I also use cookies to improve your online experience. This is done with the help of third parties, such as MonsterInsights and Google Analytics.
Analytical Purposes
I use cookies to analyze user activity in order to improve my website. For example, I can use cookies to look at aggregate patterns like the average number of user clicks. I can use such analysis to gain insights about how to improve the functionality and user experience.
Referral Tracking
I use cookies to associate user activity with the third party website or outlet that referred the user to my website. I do not share any personal information or information about individual user activities with these websites. I also may use cookies to associate user activity with the campaigns that referred the user to my website.
Managing cookies in your browser
Use the options in your web browser if you do not wish to receive a cookie or if you wish to set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. You can easily delete and manage any cookies that have been installed in the cookie folder of your browser by following the instructions provided by your particular browser manufacturer.
Mailing list
When you sign up to my mailing list, I ask you for:
(1) your name, so I know what to call you
(2) your email address, so I know where to send the email.
When you sign up, you will be asked to provide your consent to receive email communications. Your information will be stored by MailerLite, in accordance with their privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time; you’ll find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email sent to you, or you can contact me directly.
Email communications
If you agree to receive email communications, your name and email address will be used to send you my email newsletter. I tend to email my fans when I have a new book launching, when I’m running a deal on a book I’ve already published, or if I’m involved in an ebook promotion I think they’d like. You can unsubscribe from my newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email sent to you or contacting me.
The principles behind using your information
(1) I will only use your information with your explicit consent.
(2) You can provide or withdraw your consent at any time.
(3) Your privacy is important to me, and it will always be the most important consideration when I use your information.
(4) The only times I will use your information without your consent is if I have a legal or contractual obligation to do so.
